Grand Prix 2 Enhanced Edition (Version 7.0)

Post by Seguin »

Hi everyone!

Here is my latest Grand Prix 2 Enhanced Standelone Edition for those who are Nostalic and prefer the classic and simple way of playing GP2.

This is a complete Standelone installation of Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2 by Microprose with minor tweaks, graphical and Miscellanious updates to enhance the game without loosing the original feeling of it.

This addon work with DOSBox (DOSBox Staging already installed) so it will be ready to play.

Hi stephan, this looks insanely high quality. You put some stuff here that I've been looking for. Will you consider releasing this in a modular way? To be clear: I'm asking if you can supply each component separately as well, like on the old German gp2 site. So I can take the elements I need. I'm using GNU Linux which makes these pre packaged mods a nightmare for me, its not always simple to run an exe and I can't use the windows dosbox, . It will be much much easier to take what I need and piece it together myself. In GNU-Linux things can break easily and diagnosing the problem become much harder otherwise

Let me know champ

Hi Buddy!

Well, if you install it on your PC you will have a complete GP2 folder wich you can take in it what ever you need but what i can also do is to make the GP2 folder that contains the addons or other enhancements in a zip file. Would this help you More?

Cheers:)

Yes it would help me so much if I can get the folder in a zip, that would be absolutely amazing.

wine is not liking the exe and I'm sick of wrestling with wine. I'm sure I can fix it and make it work but its not worth the pain to risk breaking other parts of my setup, it could be months of troubleshooting if I mess it up again :ugeek:

Thanks seguin you're a legend.

I'm wondering do you have the jams to update the trackside billboards of the standard tracks (for other seasons)? There's a 1996 pack available on gp2de, Dennis Pantig made some others in the 90's which aren't hosted anywhere anymore.

Hi!

In facts, i have made "Enhanded Editions" of Grand Prix 2 from 1991 to 2001 and they are all separate standelone versions (like the one you downloaded) so yes (per exemple) in the 1996 Enhanced Edition GP2 is completely transform for the 96 Season with Menu backgrounds, Tracks with adverts, Track records and it feels overall like 1996. It is is not perfectly accurate but close enough. They all should be release very soon.

Cheers!!1
