No I haven't worked with any AI, I'd be tempted to, but I don't trust the AI merchants enough to actually put an LLM on my system with confidence that it isn't going to do anything undesirable or phone back to the mothership.

gp2-dos multiplayer magic data
A question for those of you who have gone deep into the gp2 exe
How can I patch the magic data to prevent the first player in multiplayer (the one who starts the race) from going into God mode, they seem to get 16384 ai, even when the computer takes over... however the other multiplayer cars seem ...

Re: GP2Lap Experiments
I was able to try x86gp2 and hatcher implemented an autosave, I'm not sure if he can help 'port' it to gp2lap, or if he has any interest at all in the dos version. There's a few things in x86gp2 that would greatly improve the dos gp2. I know most will not be possible, but some things I think can ...

Re: GP2Lap Experiments
Im wondering if an autosave feature would be possible?
Wouldn't this create a big stutter when the game was saved? I mean in dosbox, where it freezes for a fraction of a second.
I honestly don't know, it doesn't cause any ill effects in gp3 but that doesn't use dosbox. If so it would be ...

Re: GP2Lap Experiments
Great to see someone working with the gp2lap source code. Im wondering if an autosave feature would be possible? I'd prefer it to save each lap or choose the save intervals instead of the gpxpatch implementation where it keeps overwriting the previous autosave.

Re: dosbox staging audio and performance
I was able to work through the problems, starting with a fresh install. Looks like everything's working as expected but the stuttering issue still remains. Its not too bad or frequent though. I still feel ece was better but they've killed it off and I can't find the Linux version anymore

Re: dosbox staging audio and performance
ece got shut down and no Linux version seems to be available. Staging works OK but something seems off about it.
Did you use gp2edit on Linux also? I'm using it through wine but what I'm trying to do seems problematic, struggle to apply the carshape and all the menus vanish into thin air nothing ...

dosbox staging audio and performance
Using dosbox staging (flatpack/linux) and have some sound stuttering at certain times, it varies in frequency and intensity, It doesn't seem to be related to actual PO as gp2lap log files showed no evidence of slowdown. If I run htop in a terminal window my system is barely idling but the freezing ...
